Static and Dynamic Test
STATIC AND DYNAMIC TESTS
Load tests - these are performed for purposes of verification and analysis; they are carried out as follows:
- in situ - on lofts, beams, roof trusses, bridges, viaducts, foundation piles, foundations soleplates and so on;
- in the laboratory - on concrete cubes, cores, joists and so on.
Dynamic analyses of structures - this aims to determine the resonant / fundamental frequency and the structure’s modes of vibration in general, damping curves and of hysteresis, dynamic analyses of natural / free and forced vibrations. Before the test the analysis of the structure with finite element modelling is made. The dynamic load is generated by means of a vibration machine with a max frequency of 30 Hz and max load of 2000 Kg.
Checks on piles and micro-piles used in foundations - Length of pile - average effective diameter - failure of the ground-pile in the elastic range - average mechanical admittance of the pile - lateral constraint - analysis of the mobility of the pile and a verification of structural integrity. The dynamic load is generated by means of a vibration machine with a max frequency of 5000 Hz and max load of 100 Kg.
Stressing of chains - Evaluation of the pulling of a chain by measuring the displacement and the free lateral acceleration;
Columns - Evaluation of the degree of coupling of a column to a vault, beams, etc., by way of induced / forced vibrations using vibration or hammer testing techniques.
